Steeltown’s newest art show is by local photographer, Amanda Mitchell:

Amanda Mitchell is a writer and photographer who is proud to call Pittsburg home. As a transplant from the United Kingdom, she arrived in California with her husband and their two utterly insane dogs in 2011. She still can’t believe her luck to be living here. Addicted to flowers, she specializes in creating intimate portraits using selective focus lenses to reveal the hidden heart of the blossom.

When not photographing flowers, she also creates portraits of the animals with whom she shares her life. When it’s time to put the camera away, she can be found scuba diving, eating cupcakes, and singing ’80s tunes…way off key. Although rarely at the same time.
